The tumbling waters of the Kuusaankoski -river are perfect for those in pursuit of lake trout. Pike, perch, whitefish and pike-perch requests the fisherman to take up the challenge. It is an unbeatable feeling to fish in the foaming rapids.

Experience one of the best fishing rivers in the southern part of Finland. At Kuusankoski-river you can also try spinning/trolling from a rowing boat.

Fishing is suitable for beginners, but also our guides have a lot to offer for experienced fishermen. With the guidance of our experts it is possible to catch, for example trouts, graylings, zander, pike and rainbow trout.

Varjola’s fishing packages are speaking and acting for sustainable fishing. In our fishing trips we obey personal catch quota. The fish that clients want for food are chosen among suitable sized fish. We especially return the big fish back to the water, after a possible photo shoot.

Kuusaa River Fishing area is right next to Varjola, and it is possible to buy only fishing licence to river.

Kuusa River protection period is 1.9. – 30.11., fishing is not allowed during this time.

REGULATIONS FOR FISHING IN KUUSA RIVER:

CATCH & RELEASE FISHING:
Maximum of two (2) brown trout or salmon
Two graylings is equal to one trout

MINIMUM SIZES:
Cut fat fin (planted) trout minimum 50 centimeters
Pike perch minimum 40 centimeters
Grayling minimum 35 centimeters

TROUT WITH FAT FIN (NATURAL) IS PROTECTED

State Fishing management fee All people between 18 and 64 years must have paid the national fishing management fee. Fishing management fee is personal and it must be paid before fishing is started. The fisher must have proof of the payment and, if requested, present this to an authority or other person who supervises fishing. FISHING RULES KUUSAANKOSKI RAPIDS

Fishing rules for the Kuusaankoski rapids fishing area as of 1.5.2020.

1. Kuusaankoski rapids fishing area consists of a map of a defined area. All fishing is prohibited without a local license. Fishing licenses are personal.

2. In fishing, one fisher may not have more than two flies or one spoon at the same time.

3. Licenses for fishing are are for 12 fisher / fishing period. Shareholders have access to free fishing rights outside the maximum number.

4. Fishing from the beach is allowed on the terrain and in areas specified on the map. Wading is prohibited below the bridge over the rapid between 1.9 and 28.5. The use of own boats, outboard motors and fathometer is prohibited.

5. The catch quota is personal. With a 20-hour permit, two (2) adipose fin brown trout can be fished. In the catch quota, two (2) grayling to one brown trout. Planted brown trout are marked with a adipose fin cutting. Unmarked brown trout must be released immediately. The minimum catch sice of brown trout is 50cm and the maximum size is 65cm. The minimum catch size of the grayling is 35cm. The minimum catch size of the pike- perch is 45cm and the maximum 60cm.

6. A documents of the payment of the fisheries management and rapids licence fees must always be included in the trip. The documents shall be presented to the protection officer or authorities upon request.

7. The use of fixed gear as well as angling and ice fishing is prohibited.

8. The use of live bait, worm imitations, bait pastes, lead weight extra weight is prohibited.

9. In addition to possible legal action, violations if fishing regulations result in the suspension of fishing rights.

LAKE FISHING TRIP

Guided fishing trips to the lake area start from Varjola’s pier and return after fishing back to Varjola’s pier.

In Lakeland Finland we have clean and beautiful waters, full of great possibilities for sport fishing! The variety of species are quite wide.

In the lake and pond destinations you can go after pike, zander and perch, they are natural species and naturally breeded.

You can choose different fishing methods, for example trolling or jig fishing.

Our guide has been operating as a fishing guide longer than anyone else in Finland, from 1991 and as full-time sport fishing guide since 1995.
